Rice University History Professor to Speak at North Louisiana
Historical Association Spring Luncheon April 27 at Centenary

Dr. John Boles, professor of history at Rice University, will be the featured speaker at the spring luncheon of the North Louisiana Historical Association April 27 at Centenary College. The meeting will be held at noon in Bynum Commons.

Dr. Boles will speak on "The New Old South.'"

A native of Texas and the editor of the prestigious Journal of Southern History, Dr. Boles is the author of several books, including The South Through Time, The Great Revival, The Irony of Southern Religion and Black Southerners.

Cost of the luncheon is $7 and the program is open to the public. Reservations are encouraged, but some tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are available from Dr. Alan Thompson, NLHA Treasurer, P. O. Box 6701, Shreveport, LA 71136.
