SHREVEPORT, LA -- The Friends of Centenary will operate their final drive-through book collection day on Friday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Centenary College campus.
Volunteers will be on duty under the maroon-and-white tent near the Meadows Museum, 2911 Centenary Boulevard, to collect donated books of all types, as well as cassettes, videotapes and Cds.
All the donated items collected from the past year will be on sale at the 10th annual Friends of Centenary Book Bazaar, which will be Sept. 13-14 in the Gold Dome.
For large donations, call the Office of Special Gifts at 869-5103, for pick-up arrangements. For donations any time, donors can use the waterproof bins at 145 Wilkinson St., Book Bazaar headquarters.
If it rains, the drive-through will be held on Friday, Aug. 9.
The Book Bazaar annually draws some 30,000 people from throughout the Ark-La-Tex.
