SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary College of Louisiana will kick off its annual Christmas Festival with a public service of worship, music and candlelight at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 in Brown Memorial Chapel.

Music will be provided by the Centenary Choir directed by Dr. Will Andress, Camerata Singers directed by Dr. Gale Odom, the Brass Quintet directed by Dr. Rick Rowell, and college organist Professor Ronald E. Dean.

The liturgy is being presented by the Centenary School of Church Careers and the Rev. Jayne Trammell-Kelly, coordinator.

The Brass Quintet, which will begin its music 15 minutes prior to the program, will be featured in a medley of familiar Christmas music and will also provide some accompaniment for the congregational hymns. Both the Camerata Singers and the Centenary Choir will offer choral selections during the liturgy, and the congregation will sing several familiar Christmas hymns, including Silent Night and Angels We Have Heard on High.

The program is free and open to the public.

For the recessional, the congregation will light candles and follow the choir outside to the front of Magale Library for a brief campus lighting ceremony. A reception and visit by Santa Claus will follow in the Magale Library lobby.
