Students taking classes at Centenary College this summer will find their tuition costs have been reduced by one-third. The plan will allow the college to serve more students who are home for the summer and make courses more accessible to high school students, college officials said.

Summer tuition will be $210 per semester hour, or $630 for a three-hour course, plus a $30 student fee.

Summer registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 3 in Hamilton Hall. Returning students and those who have completed the admission process can register at any time during the day.

Rising high school juniors and seniors, college students from other campuses who wish to attend for the summer only, and other new students should contact the Centenary Office of Admissions no later than Monday, May 27.

The following classes will meet five days a week June 4 - July 5:

English--rhetoric, Old Testament and introduction to sociology, all offered from 8-9:35 a.m.; New Testament and cultural anthropology, both at 9:45-11:30 a.m.; art appreciation, conceptual physics and introduction to psychology, 1-2:45 p.m.; math-elementary functions, conceptual physics lab and orientation to theater, 2:45-4:20 p.m.; American history to 1877 and forensic psychology, 4:30-6:05 p.m.; and introduction to computer science and American history from 1877, 6:30-8:05 p.m.

Most of the courses are open to rising high school juniors and seniors, who receive credit for completed coursework after entering Centenary as an undergraduate.
