TAAC Student-Athletes Set Conference Mark -- Centenary Earns All-Academic Championship

MACON, GA. -- Centenary College, with 51.8% of its student-athletes earning TAAC All-Academic honors in 1995-96, is the Trans America Athletic Conference All-Academic Champion for the second straight time.

Centenary, winning the title last season with a 62% mark, had 88 of its 170 student-athletes participating in the TAAC's 15 Championship Sports earn all-academic honors in 1995-96. Samford University was second with 50.3% (76 of 151) while Mercer was third at 41.8% (84 of 203).

The TAAC had 33.5% (794 of 2,370) of its student-athletes earn all-academic honors in 1995-96. The 794 student-athletes named to this year's TAAC academic honors list is a new Conference record, surpassing last year's total of 644.
