Centenary's Camerata Singers to Perform All-Sacred Program

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary College's Camerata Singers will present an all-sacred program of music by Handel, Schubert and Aguiar during their concert Monday, Nov. 24. The program, free and open to the public, will be held at 8 p.m. in the Hurley Auditorium, located on the east side of the campus.

It will mark the first local concert by the new Camerata director, Dr. Julia Thorn, assistant professor of choral music instruction. Soloists will be Gale Odom, Horace English and Collis Thorn. Accompanist will be Kathryn McCollough along with a string quartet.

Camerata is a choral ensemble comprised of some 35 members who are predominantly music majors who joined the group after auditions.
