SHREVEPORT, La. -- "Excellence in All Areas" will be the topic and hypnotism is on the agenda when Dan LaRosa performs Nov. 1 at Centenary College. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7 p.m. in the Hargrove Memorial Amphitheater.

Nicknamed "The Humorous Hypnotist," LaRosa presents fun for the entire family and says that those who volunteer to be hypnotized will have the most fun.

"That's because when you are relaxed you will feel better than you ever have before. You will be free of stress and tension, and at the same time you will feel as if you had the most relaxing time of your life," he says.

Most psychologists agree that everyone can be hypnotized to certain degrees. While you are hypnotized, you will be aware of everything that happens and you will feel as though you were enjoying a pleasant daydream, LaRosa says.

His program has been presented to corporations, colleges, and high schools throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. He has helped people banish unwanted habits, dramatically improve sales and athletic performance, increase personal power and has published articles on the benefits of hypnosis.

LaRosa is a certified instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists and is a member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists. He was nominated in 1994 to the International Hypnosis Hall of Fame and has been named in Who's Who in The East.

If the weather is inclement on Friday, the presentation will be moved from the amphitheater to Centenary's Kilpatrick Auditorium at the corner of Kings Highway and Woodlawn Street.
