"Little Women" Opens Season at Centenary's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse

Director Robert Buseick has selected a 1912 scripted version of the immortal classic by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women to open the season at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse at Centenary College of Louisiana.

Based on the novel published in 1868 , Little Women tells the heart-warming story of survival by Mrs. March and her four daughters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy during the Civil War years.

The set and lights are designed by Don Hooper, costumes designed by Patric McWilliams, sound design by Jeremiah Stevens, properties by Ryan Williams. The assistant to the director is Megan Carter, with Maggie Scoville in charge of make-up.

Little Women plays at 8 p.m. on Oct. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 and will close on Sunday, Oct. 13 with a 2 p.m. matinee. There will be a special preview on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. with tickets available at $3 each.

The box office opens on Thursday, Sept. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. Reservations may be made during those hours by calling (318) 869-5242. Tickets are priced at $12 for adults; $10 for senior citizens; $7.50 for students 13 and over; children 12 and under are $5.

MRS. MARCH. . .Chritsy Bickham: "The Woman", "Jerry's Girls", "Carousel", "Annie Get Your Gun", and many more.

MEG. . .Kacee Carter: a freshman theater major from Ruston who made her MLP debut in "Oliver!"

JO. . .Miranda Shackelford: a sophomore theater major from Dallas who has been seen at MLP in "Red Scare On Sunset" and "subUrbia".

BETH. . .Brooks Ann Camper: a senior theater major, winner of The Times Drama Awards Best Supporting Actress for "Nunsense II", she has created major roles in "Red Scare On Sunset", "Dancing at Lughnasa", "Eleemosynary", and "Assassins".

AMY. . .Leslie Gatlin: a sophomore at Centenary, from Baton Rouge, she is making her first appearance at MLP.

HANNAH. . .Marcia Cassanova: creates her second role at MLP after being nominated for a Times Drama Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in "A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur".

MR. LAURENCE. . .Max Callaway: has created many interesting characters at MLP in "Bent", "Big River", "Night of the Iguana", "Pajama Game", "Rimers of Eldritch" to name only a few.

LAURIE. . .Ryan Williams: a sophomore theater major from Shreveport, he has appeared in "Bent," "Big River", "Red Scare On Sunset", and "Assassins".

PROF. BHAER. . .Chaz Warren: returns to the stage after several years' absence. He was in the world premiere production of "Under Hunter's Moon" at MLP.

JOHN BROOKE. . .Logan Sledge: is a sophomore theater major from Shreveport and has appeared in "subUrbia", "Assassins", "Red Scare On Sunset", "Bent", and "Oliver!".

AUNT MARCH. . .Jean Brown: makes her MLP debut in this production of "Little Women".
