Centenary College of Louisiana Names Former Willamette University Director of Student Activities Scott D. Greenwood as New Dean of Student Life

SHREVEPORT, LA--Scott D. Greenwood, the former director of student activities and the university center at Willamette University in Salem, Ore., will join the administrative staff of Centenary College of Louisiana on Jan. 12 as the college’s new dean of student life.

A 20-year student life professional, Greenwood was also formerly the director of annual giving at Willamette University.

Prior to that he was associate/assistant director of student activities and the university center at Willamette, coordinator of student activities at Seattle University, student activities program advisor at Oregon State University, and assistant to the director of residence life at Willamette. He previously worked in banking in Washington and Oregon.

Greenwood earned the B.S. degree in political science/economics (1984) from Willamette University and the Ed.M. in college student service administration with an emphasis in student activities and union management and a minor in business administration (1988) from Oregon State University.

At Willamette, he served as chair of the University Scheduling Policy Task Force (1996), co-chair of the Names Project Quilt Committee (1996-1997), facilitator of "Keepers of the Flame: Ethical Leadership" Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District Conference (1995) and chair of the Willamette University College of Law Search Committee for a director of alumni relations and development (1994). He has also served on the University Facilities Task Force (1996-1997), the University Technology Task Force (1994-1996), as an advisor for Kappa Sigma fraternity (1994-96) and as a board member for the Willamette Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

His memberships include the National Association of Campus Activities, the Association of College Unions-International, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the American College Personnel Association and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Centenary College of Louisiana is a selective, private liberal arts college located in Shreveport, La. Founded in 1825, it is the oldest privately chartered college west of the Mississippi.
