Deadline Extended to Feb. 26 for Centenary Muses Essay Contest;
Winner Earns $1,000 Scholarship to Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA -- The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, Feb. 26 for essays on "The Woman Who Has Meant the Most in My Life" for the annual contest sponsored by the Centenary Muses.

A $1,000 scholarship to Centenary is the prize for the winner of the competition, with second- and third-place finishers receiving books.

All three will be special guests at a Tuesday, March 11 Muses luncheon featuring author Ellen Gilchrist and held in conjunction with Celebration of Women Week.

High school senior girls are invited to submit entries of 500 words or less and mail them to Janie Flournoy, Centenary College, P.O. Box 41188, Shreveport, LA 71134-1188. For further information call 869-5103.
