Largest Number of Books Ever -- 38,394 -- Will be Available at annual Friends of
Centenary Book Bazaar; Sept 12 and 13 in the Centenary College Gold Dome

SHREVEPORT, LA -- The largest number of books ever -- 38,394 -- will be on sale at bargain prices Friday and Saturday (Sept. 12 and 13) when the Centenary Muses hold their annual Friends of Centenary Book Bazaar in the Gold Dome. Hours are 6 - 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Volunteers have priced the books along with 390 records, tapes and CDs and one box of sheet music. Prices start at 10 cents. In addition, rare books, first editions and award winners will be available.

Books are arranged in fifty categories, with the largest numbers available in the following categories: children's, 2,027, literature and classics, 2,586; religion, 2,558; hobbies and cookbooks, 1,873; treasure chest hardbacks and paperbacks, 2,031; and romance novels, 1,780.

Proceeds will benefit Centenary students. Past sales have made numerous projects possible at Centenary, including scholarships, camping and work-out equipment, carillon chimes, picnic tables, furniture, research awards, remodeling and additional landscaping.
