"Forbidden Knowledge and General Education" is Topic when Centenary President Speaks Tuesday, Aug. 25 at College's President's Convocation

SHREVEPORT, LA -- "Forbidden Knowledge and General Education," is the topic for Centenary College President Kenneth L. Schwab when he speaks at the President's Convocation on the first day of classes for the fall semester. The program, which is open to the public, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 in Brown Chapel.

The topic is related to the college's yearlong theme, "Forbidden Knowledge," which will be discussed in many classes, lectures and special events at the college throughout the year.

The annual President's Convocation also gives special recognition to this year's seniors, who will march to the convocation in caps and gowns along with the faculty. First-year students, who also join the procession, are also recognized.

Other participants in the annual event are the Dr. Robert P. Bareikis, provost and dean of the college; Dr. Donald Scott, T.L. James Professor of Religion and Chaplain of the College; and William G. Anderson, vice chairman of the Centenary Board of Trustees. The Centenary Choir will sing "Zion's Walls."
