SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary's volleyball team received clutch performances from its freshman in a 15-10, 14-16, 15-8, 15-3 win over Prairie View A & M Saturday, the Ladies third victory in their last four matches.
Freshman Joci Petten (Texarkana, TX) recorded a season and career high 10 kills and registered a .304 hitting percentage and fellow freshman Cassiana Costa (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added a team-high 26 assists. Costa turned in a double-double, adding a dozen digs.
The performances were much-needed because the Ladies (4-14) were without their second leading hitter, senior Erin Sansalone (Slidell), who sat out the match with a sprained ankle. In addition, leading hitter, senior Kim Bolin (Colleyville, TX) started slowly before rebounding to post a double-double with 16 kills and 19 digs.
The Ladies will travel to Grambling for their next match, Tuesday.
