SHREVEPORT--The Mercer Bears scored two goals within ten minutes to hand the Centenary men's soccer team their fourth straight defeat.
Centenary came out of the blocks quickly with a goal by Michael Baldwin (Houston, TX) off the assist from Gel Claros (Norman, OK), and controlled the first half of the game.
The two teams went back and forth early in the second before the Bears' Salvadore Chillemi tied it up. Dean Blain scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick for Mercer with less than eight minutes left on the clock. The Gents next play Sunday in the first half of a doubleheader at Texas Christian University, followed by the Ladies. Game time is 1 p.m.
