Child Abuse & Sexual Assault Discussion Set for 11 a.m. April 22 at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA--Dr. Catalina Mandoki Arata, assistant professor of psychology at the University of South Alabama, will conduct a discussion on "Child Abuse and Sexual Assault: Secret Epidemics" Thursday, April 22 at Centenary College.

The convocation will begin at 11 a.m. in Kilpatrick Auditorium in the Smith Building, corner of Kings Highway and Woodlawn Avenue.

Dr. Arata's talk will center on the high rates of child abuse and sexual assault experienced by "normal" populations. The data will be focused on college students. Dr. Arata's primary research on revictimization and characteristics of women who suffer repeated sexual assaults will be emphasized.

The event is free and open to the public as a service of the Centenary Convocations Committee.
