DALLAS -- Halliburton Foundation, Inc., a Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) affiliate, has awarded the first Dresser Endowed Scholarship at Centenary College to Robert Neumeyer, a Louisiana native. Neumeyer is the son of 15-year Halliburton employee Benny Allan Geer. Geer is senior service supervisor for Halliburton Energy Services' Production Enhancement in Houma.
Halliburton's Chairman of the Board, William A. Bradford, a graduate of Centenary College, facilitated establishment of the scholarship, which is funded by Halliburton Foundation.
The $7,500 scholarship was awarded to Robert based on his grade point average and laudable performance in high school. In addition to the Dresser scholarship, 17-year-old Robert was awarded the House of Blues Ambassador Scholarship and was selected to Who's Who Among High School Students in America. Robert's hobbies are music, gymnastics, and church activities. He plans to major in music composition and Spanish.
Celeste Colgan, vice president and secretary of Halliburton Foundation, said, "The scholarship is awarded to high-performing students who have a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and who score a minimum of 24 on the ACT or 1100 on the SAT."
Children of Halliburton Company employees are encouraged to apply.
