Prophetic Pastoral Duty is Topic of Feb. 10 Seminar for Clergy; Event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centenary College

SHREVEPORT, LA -- A continuing education event designed to spark a sense of renewal with clergy as they look at the biblical text and their callings as pastors will be offered at Centenary College in February.

"Waiting Upon the Lord: An Analysis of the Prophetic Pastoral Duty" is the seminar to be led by Dr. Donald Scott from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 in Kilpatrick Auditorium. It is sponsored by the Centenary College School of Church Careers and the Shreveport District of the United Methodist Church. Cost is $20. In addition, lunch is available for $5.50 in the Centenary Dining Hall. Continuing Education Credit (CEU) for clergy is available.

Dr. Scott currently holds the T. L. James Chair in Religion at Centenary, where he is visiting assistant professor and acting chaplain of the college. He was a United Methodist pastor with special emphasis on teaching for 21 years before he returned to college to receive his doctorate. He earned both his Bachelor of Divinity (1969) and his Doctor of Philosophy (1995) degrees from Chicago Theological Seminary. He was the scholar-in-residence at University of Neufchatel in 1992-93.
