SHREVEPORT, LA -- "Don't Let the IRS Get Your IRA" is the topic Thursday, Jan. 21 when the Centenary College Planned Giving Council presents the latest of a series of workshops on financial planning issues.
The workshop presenter will be Barlow Mann, chief operating officer of Robert F. Sharpe and Co. in Memphis, Tenn. Mann is a frequent speaker at planned giving seminars around the country. He has authored articles for Trusts & Estates and Fund Raising Management magazines and other periodicals.
Before joining Sharpe in 1984, Mann was director of development at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Services and director of planned giving at the University of Memphis. His undergraduate degree is from Tulane University and his J.D. degree is from the University of Memphis School of Law.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. until noon and will be followed by lunch and a question-and-answer period. Cost of the workshop is $35.
