SHREVEPORT, LA -- Alumni and friends of Centenary College can observe the college's 175th birthday throughout the year 2000 and beyond via a new flag commissioned by the Alumni Association.
The commemorative flag, sized three by five feet, sports the college's colors and its anniversary logo, with white letters on a maroon background. It is designed to hang on poles in front of homes, as well as at several locations on the campus.
Centenary College traces its roots to the year 1825, making it Louisiana's oldest college and the nation's oldest chartered private college west of the Mississippi River. The new flag includes the college's name and the years 1825-2000, printed on one side.
