Centenary Piano Professor
to Present Casella Music Previously Unknown in America at Nov. 14 Recital
SHREVEPORT,
LA -- Centenary College's Dr. Ross Smith will present a debut performance
of the music of Alfredo Casella -- some of it previously unknown in America
-- when he performs in recital Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Centenary. The
program begins at 7 p.m. in the Hurley Recital Hall at Centenary.
Smith, a pianist
and assistant professor of music, discovered the previously unknown music
while conducting research last summer at Santa Cecilia Conservatory in
Rome, Italy. Casella was an Italian musician from the first half
of the 20th Century.
Smith will perform
selections from Casella's solo piano music. The program is free and
open to the public as a community service of Centenary's Hurley School
of Music. The recital hall is located on the east side of the campus
in the Hurley School of Music Building.
