Lara Brown Named
Women's Soccer Independent Player of the Week
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary
senior forward Lara Brown has been named the
independent universities’
soccer Player of the Week after her four-goal performance in two wins this
week.
Brown scored three
goals on three shots in a 5-1 win over McNeese State in Lake Charles, followed
by a goal in Centenary’s 2-1 win over Drury University at home.
Currently, Brown is
tied for 19th in points per game in the nation at 2.6, as well as leading
all independents in scoring with 26 total points, ten more than the next
closest competitor. She is also tied for first place in assists with six.
Brown leads a 7-3 Centenary
squad that has already won two tournaments this season. Brown was named
to the All-Tournament team in both tournaments. This is her first time
to be named Player of the Week.
The women’s soccer
independents are: Alabama A&M, Albany College, Colorado College, South
Carolina State, Stony Brook, Virginia Tech and Centenary.
