Centenary Students
to Offer Second Annual Safe Trick-or-Treating Event for Neighborhood Children
on Oct. 31
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Members of the
Centenary College community will celebrate Halloween with a free trick-or-treating
event for neighborhood children on Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Centenary
campus.
The Centenary Activities Board is
sponsoring the second annual campus-wide trick-or-treat event that will
feature events by several student organizations. Mickle Hall of Science
will be full of scientific spooksters, James Hall will offer door-to-door
trick or treating and a haunted house, and several Greek organizations will
be holding mini-carnivals. There will also be volunteers handing
out candy round the campus and judging a costume contest at the end of
the event. "It is open to kids and parents in the neighborhood as a
safe place to trick-or-treat," said student Lisa Game, a member of CAB's
Special Events Committee.
Organizers are offering two separate
tours this year, one for children 7 and under and another for 8 to 12 year
olds."This separation will be implemented so the little ones are not too
scared and the older kids aren't bored," Ms. Game said.
Festivities will start in the Student
Union Building located in the center of campus.
For further information contact CAB
President Jean Ancelet or Ms. Game at 869-5649.
