Centenary College Wind
Ensemble to Perform Concert Nov. 16 in Hurley Recital Hall
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Works by Jacob,
Grainger, Schuman and Vivaldi are among offerings Nov.16 when the Centenary
College Wind Ensemble performs at 8 p.m. in the Hurley Recital Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
Highlights of the program include
theWilliam Byrd Suite by Gordon Jacob, Blythe Bells by Percy
Grainger, and Chester by William Schuman. Other featured works performed
by the Chamber Winds include Gloria in D by Vivaldi (eight selected
movements), Scenes from the Louvre by Norman Dello Joio and Jalousie
by Nels Gade.
The Wind Ensemble is comprised of students from throughout the student
population at Centenary College, including both music and non-music majors.
Dr. Thomas Stone, associate professor of music, will be conducting.
The Hurley Recital Hall is in the Hurley Music Building, located on the
