Pandora Wins ‘Best of Show/ Literary Magazine’ at National College
Media Event
SHREVEPORT, LA – Pandora, the literary
and fine arts publication from Centenary College, has captured first place
in the “Best of Show” competition for literary magazines at the National
College Media Convention. The award was made at the annual event,
held this year in Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 3.
Accepting the trophy award on behalf
of the 2001-02 literary magazine staff were this year's editor-in-chief,
Lisa Game; art editor, Katie Howell; and literary editor, Genny Ellis.
The piece that won first prize at
the competition was the 2001-02 edition called "Body." The boxed-set
edition included a publication with bound postcards featuring art by Centenary
students; a separate magazine with poetry, prose and lyrics; a sticker;
and a CD with music and readings from the Centenary community.
The editors for this edition were
Crystal Carter, editor-in-chief; Melissa Duplantis, literary editor; Joanna
Tagert, art editor; Andrew Farrow, music editor; Sandi Snipe, layout editor;
and Ms. Game, online editor.
The staff members included Anna Chatelain,
Heidi Dufrene, Ms. Ellis, Krystil Garrett, Meagan Gillett, Ms. Howell,
Chris Jay, Cami Noremburg and Natasha Wilson.
Dr. Bryan Alexander served as the
Pandora faculty adviser for the 2001-02 edition.
