AICPA Minority Initiatives
Committee Awards National Scholarship to Centenary College Student
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary student
Cristi Hay of Shreveport is a national winner of a scholarship for minority
accounting students from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA). The award criteria included grades, determination, and an active
campus life.
Ms. Hay is involved in the Omicron
Delta Kappa, the national honorary organization that recognizes leadership,
scholarship and service, and participates in its community service activities.
In the Frost School of Business, she is a member of Sigma Beta Delta national
honor society in business.
Ms. Hay is also a member of Centenary's
Maroon Jackets, a group of students who have excelled scholastically and
have shown outstanding leadership and service to the college.
Her accounting professor, Dr. Helen
Sikes, said, "It is such a big deal for a Centenary student to receive
this award and I am so proud of Cristi. A national winner at Centenary--what
an honor."
