Centenary Athletes,
Maroon Jackets Sponsor Day on Campus for LightHouse Students; KSLA-TV's
Candice Jones to Speak Jan. 20
SHREVEPORT, LA -- Centenary College and its student athletes will
host a free, public convocation featuring KSLA-TV health reporter
Candice Jones at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20 in Brown Chapel.
The program is part of a day-long Martin Luther King Day observance
that includes LightHouse students spending time with Centenary athletes
and members of the Maroon Jackets honor organization.
Ms. Jones will speak on "Fulfilling the Dream."
Also participating in the convocation will be Centenary students
Jameelah Brown, Sherricka Fields and Jessica Haas; the Heavenly
Touch singers; Dr. Kenneth L. Schwab, Centenary president; and the
Rev. Betsy Eaves, Centenary chaplain. Before and after the convocation,
Centenary athletes will introduce the LightHouse students to the
Centenary campus, classes, dining hall, and athletic activities.
