Centenary Names William H. Ballard Vice President for Finance and Administration

SHREVEPORT, LA – Centenary College President Kenneth L. Schwab today (Friday, June 27) announced the promotion of the college’s controller, William H. Ballard, to vice president for finance and administration.

Ballard, formerly senior vice president-finance for Reliant Energy Arkla in Shreveport for 15 years, has been at Centenary since last year. Prior to his Arkla post, he was senior vice president/controller for Allegheny & Western Energy Corp. and Mountaineer Gas Co. of West Virginia.”

"Bill Ballard brings a strong set of credentials to the campus,” Schwab said. “He has achieved senior audit manager status for an international CPA firm and has 17 years experience as a controller and CFO in public companies. In his short time here he has made a significant impact in our accounting, analytical and budgeting processes. Bill believes in collaborative processes and goal setting with measurable outcomes. We look forward to the many positive contributions he will make at Centenary."

Ballard’s experience in accounting, finance and business management includes increasing responsibilities in strategic planning and implementation, business modeling, project management, budget planning and preparation, financial analysis and operations support. At Centenary, he will head the Finance and Administration Division that includes the Offices of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits, Dining Services, Facilities Services, the Business Office, College Store and Department of Public Safety.

Ballard earned the Bachelor of Arts in computer and information science, with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors, and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University, in 1974 and 1975. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Ohio Society and American Institute of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants.
