New York State Supreme Court Justice at Centenary as 2003 Woodrow Wilson Fellow March 24-28

SHREVEPORT, LA— Emily Jane Goodman, a justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, will be at Centenary CollegeMarch 24-28 as a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow.

Judge Goodman will be on hand to share her career experiences with students and faculty of Centenary during a week of informal discussions. She will also speak to the Shreveport Bar Association and participate in the YWCA's annual "Take Back the Night" event March 27 on Centenary's campus.

As an undergraduate, Goodman received her bachelor's degree. in English from Brooklyn College in 1961 and her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1968. She obtained a master's in journalism from Columbia University in 1980. Her topics of interest include crime and punishment, the women's movement and feminism in general, and journalism. She is the author of numerous articles that have appeared in publications such as The New York Times, New York Law Journal, Ms., National Law Journal, Juris Doctor, and VillageVoice.

Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows are recruited for their abilities to listen as well as to articulate ideas. They have diverse backgrounds and include corporate executives, cabinet level officers, newspaper editors and other professionals who are matched with liberal arts colleges —such as Centenary— which are chosen for their commitment to the goals of the program.
