Snapshots from the Louisiana Governor Candidates' Debate at Centenary
Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003


Anderson Auditorium is the site for the live statewide televised debate between Louisiana gubernatorial candidates Bobby Jindal (left) and Kathleen Blanco (right). Panelists and moderators are (left to right) John Hill, Gannett News Service; Barry Erwin, president and CEO of the Council for A Better Louisiana (CABL); Beth Courtney, president and CEO of Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB); and Robert Travis Scott of the New Orleans Times Picayune.

At the CABL reception following the debate, Centenary student Robert Savage visits with Republican candidate Bobby Jindal. The reception was held in the atrium of Anderson Choral Building.

 


Violin instructor Laura Crawford introduces Mrs. Virginia Shehee and Democratic candidate Kathleen Blanco to the Centenary students who formed the stringed quartet that played during the reception.

 


CABL's Barry Erwin shares a laugh with Mrs. Blanco as Centenary trustee Gen. (Ret.) Spencer Hardy looks on. Gen. Hardy had a special connection to the debate. He is the father of one of the moderators, LPB's president and CEO, Beth Courtney.
