SHREVEPORT, LA— Two groups conducted by Dr. Thomas Stone at Centenary College —Chamber Winds and the Wind Ensemble — will present free public concerts this week.

The Chamber Winds will perfom at 8 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 19) in the Anderson Auditorium of the Hurley Music Building. The ensemble will also play at the Louisiana Music Educators Association Convention in Baton Rouge on Sunday (Nov. 23). Both programs will feature works by von Weber and Bird, and Dr. Stone's arrangements of pieces by Gallo and Pergolesi.

The Chamber Winds, comprised of students from the Centenary Wind Ensemble, provides students the opportunity to perform music in a one-to-a-part setting while requiring the highest standard of independent mastery and musicianship.

The Wind Ensemble concert will be held Thursday (Nov. 20) at 8 p.m., also in Anderson Auditorium. It will feature Dr. Horace English as vocal guest soloist, performing Aaron Copland's Old American Songs. The program also includes music by Holst, Grainger and Barber.
