Centenary hosts Tres Vidas, theater and chamber music performance, on Oct. 22

SHREVEPORT, LA —Centenary College will host a special theatre/chamber music performance by Core Ensemble, entitled Tres Vidas, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 in Anderson Auditorium. Admission is free to students and $5 for the public.

The performance dramatizes the lives of three legendary Latin American women: Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, Salvadoran peasant activist Rufina Amaya and Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni.

As part of the dramatization live music will also be performed. All pieces are composed by Latin American composers. The Core Ensemble a theatre group from Lake Worth, Fla., consists of actors, singers and musicians. Performing at Centenary will be Hugh Hinton, Tahirah Whittington, Georgina Corbo and Michael Parola.

The performance, presented in English despite the title, is of special interest to students and those interested in music, Spanish, history and literature.
