Centenary College to Host Louisiana College Theatre Festival Oct. 9-11

SHREVEPORT, LA—Productions from five Louisiana colleges will be presented Oct. 9, 10 and 11 at Centenary College's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse. The occasion is the annual Louisiana College Theatre Festival, hosted this year by the Department of Theatre and Dance at Centenary.

Festival participants will be the University of New Orleans, Loyola University, Dillard University, McNeese University and Centenary.

Dr. Jeff Koep of the University of Nevada - Las Vegas and Dr. D. Andrew Gibbs of the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville are the adjudicators and will give public responses to each production. They will also nominate a winning production that will be considered for regional presentation.

Also, attending the festival are members of the Region VI division of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, who have the right to nominate representative productions for further consideration.

All activities are open to the general public. Tickets for the individual plays are $5 for each production and can be purchased at the door.

The festival is being sponsored in part by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, and the Centenary College Theatre Department.

Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m.— “Madamoiselle Blackwell” presented by UNO

Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. —“The Scams of Scapino" presented by McNeese

Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.— “Zooman and the Sign” presented by Dillard

Saturday, Oct. 11 at noon— “The Children's Hour" presented by Loyola

Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. —“The Beauty Queen of Leenane" presented by
Centenary
