Centenary Student Evelyn Scarborough Earns Place on U.S. National Senior Women's Point List for Fencing

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary junior biology major Evelyn Scarborough earned a 21st place finish in the U.S. Fencing Association Division I Women's Epee North American Cup held in Richmond, Va., Dec. 10-12.

Division I is the highest rated fencing tournament in the United States and drew competitors from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Hungary, New Zealand, Israel, and the Ukraine.

This finish places Scarborough on the U.S. National Senior
Women's Point List, which is used to select USA team members for the 2005 World Championships in Leipzig, Germany.

Ms. Scarborough began her fencing career at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport, La., and currently fences for the Caddo Magnet Alumni Fencing Club.
