Noted Author, Professor Leonard Sweet to Keynote Jan. 31 “Church in 21st Century” Public Seminar at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Successful leadership and preaching in the 21st Century church will be the topic Jan. 31 at a public seminar being held at Centenary College.

Featured speaker will be Leonard Sweet, the E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Drew University. Sweet is the author of 20 books, including SoulSalsa, AquaChurch and Postmodern Pilgrims.

The seminar will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Centenary’s Kilpatrick Auditorium and will offer a 0.5 continuing education credit to participants. Cost is $75. To register or receive further information, call 318-869-5156.

The program, “21st Century Leadership and Preaching,” is the second of three seminars being sponsored in 2003-04 by the Centenary Church Careers Institute and the Theological Center.

The final seminar, “The Many Faces of the 21st Century Church,” will be held March 6 and 7 at the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, offering 1.5 continuing education credits.

The first seminar, “Technology in the Church,” was held in November at Grace Community United Methodist Church.
