Shreveport District, Louisiana Conference UMC Sponsors "Weekend of the Cross 2004" Event July 29-Aug. 1 at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA — "Living Your Faith Inside Out" is the theme for the Weekend of the Cross 2004, a mission opportunity for youth, July 29-Aug. 1 in Shreveport. Some 200 young people who have completed grades 6-12 and 50 adults are expected to attend.

Sponsored by the Shreveport District, Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, the event will be based at Centenary College. It includes on-site work, meetings and worship. Work sites will be acorss the Shreveport-Bossier City community and lunches will be served at various local churches.

Worship will be led by Ron and Celia Whitler, Centenary alumni and Shreveport natives, who are nationally known for their music and ministry.
