Scholars, Minister, Priest, Rabbi to Discuss Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ during Public Forum March 22 at Centenary College

SHREVEPORT, LA -- The Mel Gibson film The Passion of the Christ is the topic of a Monday, March 22 public forum at Centenary College, featuring the perspectives of a biblical scholar, a historian of religion, a Protestant minister, a Catholic priest, a Jewish rabbi and a film scholar. The program will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in Kilpatrick Auditorium, which is located in the Smith Buiding at the corner of Kings Highway and Woodlawn Street.

Panelists from Centenary are Dr. Susan Brayford, associate professor of religious studies; the Rev. Betsy Eaves, chaplain; Dr. Jefferson Hendricks, professor of English; and Dr. Peter A. Huff, T. L. James associate professor of religious studies. Also on the panel are Dr. Patrick J. Madden, director of the Greco Institute, and Dr. Harold L. Robinson, rabbi, B'nai Zion Congregation. Dr. Darrel Colson, provost and dean of the college, will serve as moderator.

The event is sponsored by the Religious Studies Department, the Chaplain's Office, the Centenary communication program, the United Methodist Student Movement/Icthus, the Shreveport-Bossier chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice, the Centenary Film Society and Theta Alpha Kappa, the national honor society in religious studies.
