Holocaust Survivors on Centenary Campus During Week of Nov. 1-5 as Attaway Fellows in Civic Culture; Public Presentation is Nov. 4

SHREVEPORT, LA — Holocaust survivors Rose and Louis Van Thyn of Shreveport will spend the week of Nov. 1-5 at Centenary as Attaway Fellows in Civic Culture.

The Van Thyns have dedicated themselves to retelling their stories so that people will not forget or repeat those horrors. For her extraordinary community service, Mrs. Van Thyn was awarded the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at Centenary's 2002 commencement exercises.

While at Centenary, the Van Thyns will be available to meet with students and faculty each day over lunch in Bynum Commons at about noon.

Students are invited, as well, to join the Van Thyns for coffee at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the Audubon Room of Bynum Commons.

The Van Thyns will make a public presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 in Kilpatrick Auditorium. A reception will follow the talk.
