FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (12/05) Daniel, Johnson and McCarter Join Centenary College Staff
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary graduates Rosie Daniel of Baton Rouge, La., and Kelsey Johnson and Amanda McCarter, both of Shreveport, La., have joined Centenary College's administrative staff. In the Office of Public Relations, Daniel is assistant web developer working with Michael Futreal, senior web developer, and Johnson is a communications specialist. McCarter joins the Office of Alumni Relations as a communications specialist. Daniel holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Having minored in information technology systems and worked in web development her senior year at Centenary, she now manages an online elections system and uses programming languages and protocols such as PHP, Javascript, AJAX, MYSQL and Flash to maintain and develop the college's web sites. She also provides assistance to students, faculty and staff in creating their own sites.
Johnson received her bachelor of arts degree in professional writing and French in May. Having worked as a 10-month intern in the Office of Public Relations before taking on a full-time position as communications specialist, she is responsible for writing news and features for local and regional media and Centenary publications, managing Centenary's online news, taking photographs of campus events and designing small print publications.
McCarter, the communications specialist for the Office of Alumni Relations, was formerly a character generator and news desk operator at KTBS -TV Channel 3. She graduated with a bachelor of arts in film/television/video in December 2004. As alumni communications specialist, she assists with alumni relations activities and coordinates electronic communications, monthly email newsletters and alumni photo galleries. - 30 - |
