FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (7/05) Centenary Students, Alumni and Faculty Participate in Local "Singin' in the Rain" July 15-24
SHREVEPORT, LA – Centenary students, alumni and faculty will be featured in the First Methodist Church Performing Arts Center's upcoming production of the classic musical, "Singin' in the Rain." Among Centenary notables cast in the show are Loren Demerath, chair of Centenary's sociology department; Anna Maria Sparke Keele, Class of '92; Trey Jackson, husband of Centenary alumna Jennifer Smith Jackson, '00; William Parsons, '92, voice teacher at Centenary's Hurley School of Music; and Centenary students Jamie Norwood of Bossier City, La. and Andre Pitre of Opelousas, La. Choreographed by Centenary professor of dance, Ginger Folmer, the show's technical director is Joshua Porter, '04, and musical director is Dr. Will K. Andress, professor of sacred music at Centenary and director of Centenary College Choir. "Singin' in the Rain" features other local talents and is directed by Ryan Williams. The show runs July 15, 16, 21, 22 & 23 at 7:30 p.m. and July 17 &
24 at 2:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Performing Arts Center
