Centenary’s Alpha Chi Chapter Receives National Award

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary’s Alpha Chi chapter is among 37 chapters of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society to receive a Star Chapter Award this spring at the national convention in St. Louis, Mo.

To qualify for a Star Chapter award, a chapter must send a sponsor and a student to the national/regional convention, conduct at least one student presentation at the convention, have a Benedict Fellowship and/or Nolle Scholarship nominee within the chapter, sponsor one scholarly program on campus, induct and register members and file an annual chapter report.

New inductees into Centenary’s Alpha Chi chapter, as announced at this spring’s Honors Convocation in April, are:

Alpha Chi has chapters on more than 300 campuses in 45 states and in Puerto Rico. An honor society for all academic fields, it inducts no more than the top 10 percent of juniors and seniors at member institutions.
