FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (3/05) Centenary Offers Advice about Parking and Logistics for President Bush's Visit to Campus Friday, March 11SHREVEPORT, LA -- Officials at Centenary College have noted that parking around the campus will be extremely limited during the hours surrounding President George W. Bush's visit to campus on Friday, March 11. Parking for guests with special passes will be available at one location with a single entrance: the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Kings Highway. All others attending the event are asked to take a shuttle from the Mall St. Vincent parking lot, Department of Public Safety officials said. The first shuttle bus will leave the mall parking area (on the northeast corner near Dillards) at 9:30 a.m. Those riding the bus must show a valid ticket to the Town Meeting and a photo ID before boarding. Doors to the Town Meeting will open at 11:30 a.m. The last bus will leave the mall at 1:10 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with all attendees seated no later than 1:30 p.m., when no one else will be admitted. All attendees will go through metal detectors. Concessions will be available from 11:30 to 1 p.m. and student singers and musicians, coordinated by Centenary's Hurley School of Music, will perform for the crowd before the program begins. Officers will establish a public viewing area for those not attending the Town Meeting. It will be outlined on the lawn outside Cline Hall on Kings Highway. - 30 - |
