FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (3/23/05) Kappa Sigma Endowment Awards Scholarships to 3 Centenary StudentsCHARLOTTESVILLE, VA —The Endowment Fund of Kappa Sigma Fraternity has made scholarship awards to three undergraduate members of its Epsilon chapter at Centenary College of Louisiana. Receiving a $1000 award was Matthew Bryan Martin. A $500 award went to Benjamin Joseph Bumgardner, and $500 went to Joel Vincent Bailey. They were recognized for outstanding achievement in scholarship campus involvement, chapter involvement and community service. A total of 192 undergraduates were honored with scholarship awards totaling over $250,000. Kappa Sigma, headquartered in Charlottesville, Va., is one of the oldest and largest college fraternities. There are 192 Kappa Sigma chapters in the United States and Canada. The Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund established in 1915 was the first organization of its kind in the Interfraternal world. Since the inception of the Scholarship-Leadership Program millions of dollars have been awarded to thousands of undergraduates. For the 2004-05 academic year almost $300,000 in scholarship stipends
