'World Tour' Series Brings International Films to Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA- The Robinson Film Center is sponsoring a series of international films to be screened in the Turner Art Center at Centenary College every Wednesday from now through June 15. All screenings begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

The 'World Tour' series features critically acclaimed foreign films compiled by a team including Centenary alumnus Chris Jay, Class of 2002, who works as the director of marketing and community programs for the Robinson Film Center. Screenings will include The Wages of Fear directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot (France, 1953) on May 25; Wild Strawberries directed by Ingmar Bergman (Sweden, 1957) on June 1; The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser by Werner Herzog (Germany, 1974) on June 8 and The Sea Inside by Alejandro Amenábar (Spain, 2004) on June 15.

Scheduled to officially open March 2006, the Robinson Film Center will regularly screen independent, classic and international films. The Center plans to offer these screenings in addition to serving as a regional resource for filmmaking and film education. With its headquarters located downtown, the Center will feature two film theaters, an audio/visual library, multi-use spaces for educational purposes, a café and digital classrooms outfitted with viewing stations and filmmaking/editing equipment.

'World Tour' films will be screened in Centenary College's Turner Art Center located at 3000 Centenary Blvd. Discussions will follow each film.
Space is limited.
