Centenary's Student Life Office Welcomes Four New Staff Members

SHREVEPORT— Four new employees join the Office of Student Life at Centenary College.


Kevin Wagner, Assistant Dean of Student Life/Director of Residence Life

Kevin Wagner, formerly of Lancaster, Wis., joins the staff as assistant dean of student life/director of residence life. Mr. Wagner graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with his B.S. in broadcast technology management in 1992. He went on to earn his master's in counselor education with an emphasis in college student personnel from Emporia State University in Kansas. For the past 10 years, Mr. Wagner has worked in residence life positions at various public and private institutions across the country. He belongs to several professional residence life and housing organizations and enjoys interacting with students and offering them positive cocurricular experiences. His duties at Centenary include overseeing residence life and all on-campus housing functions as well as advising the Residence Hall Association and serving as chief judicial officer.


Eva Harris Vickerstaff, Director of Career Services

Eva Harris Vickerstaff of Marshall, Texas, is the new director of career services. Ms. Vickerstaff, who holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Wiley College, is pursuing a master's degree in administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Before joining Centenary's staff, she worked for four years at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, as director of counseling and career planning. Ms. Vickerstaff assists students in making decisions about their career plans and will oversee the transformation of Centenary's career services to extend not only to current students but also alumni. She coordinates Career Exploration and career peer counselors, arranges work study and internship placements, matches employers with potential employees and guides students in graduate school selection.


Kristy Jackson, Assistant Director of Residence Life

Kristy Jackson of Mansfield, La., is the assistant director of residence life. Ms. Jackson, a 2003 Centenary graduate who earned her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, is now pursuing a master's in student personnel services at Northwestern State University. While a student at Centenary, Ms. Jackson worked in residence life. She then worked for the vice president of student afffairs, coordinated new student programs, gained experience as a hall director and assisted with instruction of the resident assistant class in residence life at Northwestern. Her duties at Centenary include being area coordinator for Cline Residence Hall and Rotary Hall Suites and addressing housing issues related to residence life.


Jennifer Semien, Student Life Administrative Assistant

Jennifer Semien, formerly of Lake Charles, La., is the administrative assistant for student life. Ms. Semien earned her B.S. in biological engineering from Louisiana State University and has worked for 10 years in retail sales and seven years in executive administration. Her duties include assisting the dean of student life and the student life staff, maintaining the undergraduate student address database and organizing annual Honors Convocation activities.
