Centenary College's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse to Present Wildebeest Nov. 3-6, 10-12

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse presents the premiere of Wildebeest Nov. 3-6 and 10-12, offering an original performance art piece created by former Centenary student Stanton Dossett III.

Wildebeest combines a typical play format with Butoh dance, a contemporary dance form, which originated in post-World War II Japan. The performance tells the story of a normal family on a Halloween night when the father unexpectedly brings home a guest for dinner. The guest is unlike anyone the family has ever seen and ultimately has a drastic effect on their lives.

Wildebeest is directed by Dossett with set and light design by Don Hooper, chair of the Theatre and Dance Department at Centenary. Stage manager Angie Rosenkrans and choreographer Dorothy Kristin Hanna also lend their leadership to the show.

Theatre major cast members include Tim Broderick Jr. of Bossier City, La., as the father; Jenni Loer of San Antonio, Texas, as the mother; and Nathan Wasson of Marshall, Texas, as the guest. Other Centenary students include Mindy Diez of Gonzales, La., as the daughter and Allan Jogiel of Dallas, Texas, as the son.

Wildebeest will open Thursday, Nov. 3 and play Nov. 3-5 and 10-12, all at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. General admission is $5.

For tickets, call the box office at 318-869-5242 between noon and 4 p.m. daily. Visit http://www.centenary.edu/playhouse for information about the complete Marjorie Lyons Playhouse 2005-06 season.
