Centenary Professors Receive
Louisiana Board of Regents Grants
SHREVEPORT, LA — Several Centenary professors are implementing
research and enhancement programs this fall thanks to grants they received
from the Louisiana Board of Regents. They are as follows:
Enhancement Grants
- Katherine Brandl, assistant professor of mathematics, and the rest
of the mathematics department received $25,000 for "Technology
Access for Introductory Mathematics Classes"
- Barbara Davis, Samuell Guy Sample professor of business administrtion,
and Helen Sikes, professor of accounting, received $43,245 for "Enhancing
Collaborative Research in the Liberal Arts Business Program Through
Creation of a Collaborative Research Center"
- Ron Martin, Albert Sklar Eminent Scholars chair of chemistry, received
$100,000 for "Enhancement of Chemistry with Spectrometry at Centenary
College"
- Tom Ticich, associate professor of chemistry, received $44,000 for
"Building a 21st Century Chemistry Curriculum Through Molecular
Modeling and Numerical Analysis"
Research and Development Grants
- Cynthia Brame, assistant professor of biology, received $66,920 with
her colleague, Lucy Robinson of the Louisiana State University Health
Sciences Center in Shreveport for phosphoproteomics/enzyme research
- Susan Brayford, associate professor of religious studies, received
$30,750 for a sabbatical extension to finish LXX Genesis: A Commentary
Facilities and Informational Technology personnel have been working with
these faculty members over the summer to implement the projects proposed
in these enhancement grant applications. Research and development programs
are currently under way as well.
