Centenary College's Hurley Orchestra to Present Concert April 10 Featuring High School Composition Contest Winner from Michigan

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College’s Hurley Orchestra, directed by Todd Gabriel, will present its fourth and final concert of the year on Monday, April 10. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Hurley School of Music’s Anderson Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

The program features this year’s winner of the Hurley Orchestra Composition Contest for high school students. Sixteen-year-old Costas Daphnis from Coldwater Creek, Mich., won a performance of his work, Le reve de la nymphe for strings, percussion, oboe and horn.

Tenor William Parsons will sing arias by Mozart and Verdi and the Hurley Orchestra will perform Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 in C major.
