Centenary's Camerata, Chorale and Cantare Groups Combine to Give Concert April 25

Dr. Julia Thorn directs Cantare in preparation for their concert earlier this semester. Cantare will combine with Camerata and Chorale for the April 25 concert.

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary's Camerata, Chorale and Cantare, under the direction of Dr. Julia Thorn and accompaniment by Cathy DeRousse, will present a concert Tuesday, April 25 at 8 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium of the Hurley Music Building. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will feature Cantare performing two arrangements written by Mrs. DeRousse, one of which was dedicated to Cantare and Dr. Thorn. Chorale will sing "Songs of Birds" and "Flowers and Trains." Camerata's portion of the program will include a setting of Sleep by Eric Whitacre and René Claussen's pop arrangement of "What A Wonderful World." All three groups will combine at the concert's conclusion for Aaron Copland's "Stomp your Foot," accompanied by two pianists, Mrs. DeRousse and student Thea Partington.
