Centenary Film Society Opens Spring Season


Centenary Film Society opens season with film screening Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Film Society begins its spring season with the award-winning political thriller The Constant Gardner, starring Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz. Called "one of the year's best films" by Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times, The Constant Gardner received awards for best actor, best actress and best film at the British Independent Film Awards. It will be screened Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in Carlile Auditorium (Room 114) in the Mickle Hall of Science on Centenary's campus.

Other awarding-winning films to be shown this semester include Me and You and Everyone We Know (USA, 2005. 90 min.); Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (USA, 2005. 109 min.); My Summer of Love (UK, 2005. 86 min.); Broken Flowers (USA, 2005. 106 min.); Murderball (USA, 2005. 88 min.); The Best of Youth (Italy, 2005. 188 min.); The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio (USA, 2005. 99 min.); Proof (USA, 2005. 99 min.); and Shopgirl (USA, 2005. 104 min.).

All films are screened in Carlile Auditorium (Room 114) in the Mickle Hall of Science on Centenary's campus. Films begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
