Centenary College's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse to Present The Marriage of Bette and Boo Nov. 9-12

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College's Marjorie Lyons Playhouse will present Christopher Durang’s The Marriage of Bette and Boo beginning Nov. 9.

The play will be presented at 8 p.m. Nov. 9-11 and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 12. Reservations and tickets for performances can be arranged by calling 318-869-5242.

Directed by senior Adam Boyd, the comedy follows the story of Bette and Boo, devout Catholics who dream of a large family. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they are able to have only one child. The misadventures of their quest and the effects their failure has on their family and child result in hilarity and mayhem.

Bette and Boo presents an ensemble cast of senior theatre majors. Courtney Gaston and Stephen Scarlato play the title roles of Bette and Boo respectively. Also featured are Heather Bickham, Marissa Brown, Cheryl Cornacchione, Lizzie Drexler, Nic Gadpaille, Jenni Loer, Jamie Norwood, Thomas Skrmetti and Nathan Wasson.

The student production team is rounded out by Vanna Richardson as stage manager; Brigitte Bechtel, scenery designer; Marissa Brown, properties manager; Nic Gadpaille, technical director; Courtney Gaston, lighting design; Jenni Loer, sound design, and Miranda Miller, costume design.

The box office will be open daily starting Nov. 2 from noon until 4 p.m. Ticket prices for all performances will be $5 and are general admission. Centenary faculty, staff and students, as always, are admitted free of charge. Marjorie Lyons Playhouse is located at Centenary College on the corner of Wilkinson Street and Woodlawn Avenue.
